A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger airplane crashed Friday near the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, in accordance with the civil aviation authority.
The airplane, reportedly an Airbus A320, was touring from Lahore and was attributable to land on the airport in Karachi. There had been 107 folks on board (99 passengers with eight crew members), in accordance with the aviation authority.
The crash reportedly occurred in a residential space of the town. “The plane PK 8303 with 99 passengers and 8 crew members has crashed,” stated a spokesman for the nationwide service, in accordance with Reuters.
Local media stated homes had been broken and reported that the military’s Quick Reaction Force had arrived on the crash web site to help with rescue efforts. Social media footage, unverified by CNBC, confirmed black plumes of smoke rising from a row of homes.
