SpaceX is engaged on an antenna that can connect autos like semi-trucks and RVs to its satellite tv for pc internet community, CEO Elon Musk mentioned in a tweet on Monday.
Musk clarified that the antenna is not going to be for “connecting Tesla vehicles to Starlink,” saying that the person “terminal is much too big.”
“This is for aircraft, ships, large trucks & RVs,” Musk mentioned.
Musk was responding to CNBC’s reporting that SpaceX requested authorization from the Federal Communications Commission to start deploying antenna for its Starlink service on “moving vehicles.”
Starlink is the firm’s capital-intensive venture to construct an interconnected internet community with hundreds of satellites, recognized in the area trade as a constellation, designed to ship high-speed internet to shoppers anyplace on the planet.

But Friday’s request is for a much wider “blanket license” for operations.
