All of the shipments of Covid-19 vaccine doses that have been delayed final week by the historic winter storm are anticipated to be delivered by midweek, White House senior advisor for Covid-19 response Andy Slavitt stated Monday.
Slavitt stated on Friday that the supply of about 6 million doses, representing about three days’ value of shipments, was delayed by the storm.
“I reported on Friday that we would catch up on deliveries by the end of this week,” Slavitt stated Monday on the White House Covid-19 press briefing. “We now anticipate that all backlogged doses will be delivered by midweek.”
He added that on Monday the federal authorities plans to ship about 7 million doses of vaccine, a mixture of photographs that have been backlogged from final week and a few that have been scheduled to exit this week. He stated the federal government’s capability to rapidly catch up from the storm is thanks to members of the navy and workers of McKesson, which the federal government has contracted to assist run distribution and logistics within the vaccine rollout.
