A German city is hoping to repurpose an old coal plant to start producing green hydrogen

Four main companies signed a letter of intent Friday to develop a “mega-electrolyser” within the German city of Hamburg that will produce so-called “green” hydrogen.

An announcement from the city’s press service mentioned the potential 100 megawatt (MW) facility could be positioned on the positioning of the Moorburg coal-fired energy plant, which is at present within the means of being shut down.
